Children's General Assembly

At the end of 2023, the organisation behind the Children's General Assembly adopted a new strategy. The vision is to continue to help the two owners, Billund Municipality and the LEGO Foundation, realize the vision of the Capital of Children by strengthening the anchoring of play, learning, and child involvement in the Capital of Children.

With a renewed and strengthened focus on primarily local and partly national initiatives, a consequence of the new strategy is that the Children's General Assembly (CGA) project, which has had an international focus, is being finalized. In the coming period, the organisation behind the project will go into dialogues with partners to see if anyone might be interested in building on the positive experiences gained over the past three years and perhaps continuing CGA in a different format.

The project

From 2020-2023, 80 chosen children and youths, participated in digital co-creation workshops from April-August. The children discussed, collaborated, created, and consolidated their shared perspectives and solutions to current world issues.

Every year in September, the participants gathered in the Capital of Children, Billund, Denmark. Here, children of the world brought forward their shared perspectives, solutions, and actions for a better world to leaders of the world.

The program was closed at the end of 2023.
