How does your organization make Billund alive as the Capital of Children – where children learn through play and become creative citizens of the world?
Playful Hub brings together entrepreneurs, established companies, and researchers in children's play and learning in an innovation environment where collaboration with children and knowledge sharing is the common denominator.
“We facilitate a place where different resources within play and learning can be brought together. The innovation environment gives members a place to work, meet, share knowledge, test, and develop solutions through co-creation with children, and at the same time expand their network.” This is stated by Louise Fenger Kornum, project manager, Playful Innovation, CoC Playful Minds.
Playful Hub is the first step towards developing an epicenter of play and learning based on Billund, the Capital of Children. The purpose is, among other things, to attract more companies to Billund of shorter and longer duration. Companies who want to tap into the unique knowledge and resources found in the epicenter.
What’s in it especially for children?
Children are given the opportunity to develop competencies as they are involved in the development of products and services for children's play and learning. We involve children in these processes because we recognize children as experts in their own lives and their perspectives as legitimate knowledge that is valid and worthy. Children also gain insight into what an innovation environment is and, in this context, insight into what it is like to be an entrepreneur.
How do you think it links to the vision of Capital of Children?
Playful Hub wants to support an agenda where play, learning, and creativity are at the center.
