Children's General Assembly
Volunteering at the Children's General Assembly 2023 offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a memorable experience for all participants, including parents, caregivers, local citizens, schools, and partners.
The annual United Nations General Assembly will be held in New York City in September. While Billund, The Capital of Children, will host the Children’s General Assembly September Summit from 18th-21st of September 2023.
It is our belief that Children have the right to be heard, contribute their perspectives, and suggest solutions for their future. Therefore, children of the world will work towards constructing a Manifesto that can be submitted to the leaders of the world. Through the Children’s General Assembly Program, the children will gain some of the most crucial competencies of the future which will allow the individual child and the community to unleash their full potential and contribute to common solutions to the challenges of the world. In the program the children and young people will learn:
In 2023 we have invited 80 children and 80 accompanying adults to participate in the official program.
The Children’s General Assembly will culminate in the delivery of the children’s joint manifesto. The entire event will be livestreamed, and we will also make sure that the manifesto is available for all heads of Member States of the UN.

The event will take place from September 18th to 22nd. Even if you are not able to attend all days, I would still like to hear from you. Additionally, as a volunteer in CGA you are welcome to join our facilitation-training on the 4th and 5th of September in Billund at CoC Playful Minds.
Your main task as part of the Volunteer Team will be to ensure that all participants have a wonderful experience throughout the event. This will involve serving as a guide to help participants navigate from one location to another.
You will also provide support to the management team and assist facilitators during workshops. Additionally, you may be involved in supporting the management of the Parent Lounge, where parents and caregivers can relax and connect.
Your responsibilities will also include managing and ensuring the smooth execution of various activities. This will involve handling logistics, managing time schedules, and ensuring the availability of necessary materials. You should be prepared to answer common questions from participants and provide assistance whenever needed.
During the event, your presence will be required at the morning briefings, which take place every day at 08:00, as well as the evening debriefings once the official program for the day is over. This will ensure effective communication and coordination within the team.
Furthermore, as part of your role, you may be assigned ad hoc tasks such as cleaning up and greeting participants and their families at the airport. These tasks are important in creating a positive and welcoming environment for everyone involved.
